Club night
We have two club sessions each week, from 1900 until 2200 on Tuesdays and Fridays. These run during the badminton season from 1 September until the end of April. Whether you're after competitive games, or just a chat and something to keep you fit, our club sessions are great. We have a range of standards, from the better team players through to people who have only been playing a short time. In order to keep fair and fun games for everyone, we can't cater for real beginners, so if you're not quite up to the standard of our games, then we're happy to give you some contact details for other clubs that might suit you. So just come down to a session and see how you fit in.
There are always at least two or three courts for club sessions, and often four, and with the long three-hour sessions, you can be guaranteed plenty of games most nights. We play at King Edward VII Lower School, which has a proper sports hall, so the courts are of a good quality and there are changing rooms and hot showers if you want to make use of them. There's drinking water available but only from a tap so you may want to bring a cup/bottle with you.
Club sessions are free, once you've paid the joining fee. If you want to come along and see whether you'd like to join, the guest fee is £3 per session (£2 for students), which is taken off the cost of membership if you later join. Tuesdays are usually our slightly busier nights.
You can also, if picked, play more each week by joining one of our many teams.
